How great would that be? They actually have a show that is on Amazon called The Ride: London to Beijing Documenting one of their trips.

Plenty spendy, $45K or something at today's exchange rates. But is is nearly 1/2 a year, accommodations are taken care of, some meals, guided, they do the VISA work, shipping your bike to and from starting/finish bike sweeper van with a mechanic to work on your bike, ect They have shorter trips if you poke around their site, in quite a few parts of the world.

They look interesting to me...they went into some pretty tough conditions in the Amazon video series, one rider had to be taken out of the trip because of altitude sickness in Tibet.

Really looks like something i would like to do sometime! I have a massive itch to do a really long border crossing motorcycle trip...while this sounds expensive, they take a lot of the work that you would have to do to make it happen for you.

So who is in and wants to put a deposit down with me??

That looks awesome, and something I would do under the right conditions. Those conditions aren't likely to ever happen - become single and sell my house.

ADVrider forum is filled with stories of incredible long adventures. The majority have something in common - the rider is single. And the majority just went through a life changing event. For example, got divorced, cashed out on his 50% of the house, quit his job and went for a year long ride. Remember Neil Peart's story? Lost his daughter to accident and wife to sickness and just rode for a couple years from the arctic to South America.

Yeah it's not super likely to happen, once my kids move out, wife and I want to do some of these... probably not this long at one shot, lol but hey a guy can dream.

I have read a lot of RTWPaul on advrider

There is a cost of living for those same six months for staying home. Which also entails working every day and not experiencing an epic adventure. $45k is not too bad - worth it actually, if you have no obligations keeping you from going.

I agree, once you get over the sort of sticker shock, and if you look into doing it all yourself and having escort help, guy to work on your bike, etc not having to worry much about riding and enjoying yourself, its not bad. Not that I can afford it, lol But i have seen 45K spent on far less!

If i could afford something like this, and my kids are 18, I would do it in a heart beat.
